U.S. Top Dairies Benchmarkssponsored by theNational Program on Dairy Education |
Welcome to the U.S. Top Dairies benchmarking web page. At this site, users can look at benchmarks of performance from dairy producers across the country. This interactive web site was an outgrowth of a workshop held in Orlando, Florida in 1997, where top producers from around the country shared their financial data to benchmark their own performance. To reduce the time lag involved in submitting data and receiving a farm summary by mail, producers can do so on this secured web site.
You are allowed different levels of access to information depending on your participation in the project. As a site guest, you will be able to view current, collective farm summaries. You will also be able to request summaries from earlier years with an interactive query. For example, you may request a summary of farms with 200-500 cows in the Northeast. You could further request that those farms have a high percentage of Jerseys and consume a high percentage of their roughage by grazing. If more than three farms meet these qualifications, you can look at this benchmark.
Without farm level data, these summaries are not possible. Participants who submit valid data will be allowed greater access to more current information. Rest assured that all individual information is held in the strictest confidence and that you cannot view individual data other than your own. If you wish to participate you should become a registered user from the list below.
